Diploma in Food Service Management

Assalamlaikum,

Counting days to finish this practical sem omaigadddddd please lah be faster. Seven days left . Okay warga Pontian, silalah jemput celebrate result korang tu kat pizza hut, nanti hakak lanje.

And so, result SPM dah keluar kan? For those who passed with flying colours, congratulation. And for those yang tergelincir kat mana mana satu dua subject, don't be too frustrated since you've worked your ass off, maybe He has better plan for you. And for those who get average result, do not be demotivated, taknak sambung belajar sebab tak tahu dengan kelulusan sekian sekian, boleh masuk mana je. Everyone has their own path to success.

Screw those yang cakap SPM bukan segalanya sebab bagi Akak, Akak mengiyakan apa yang bekas pengetua Akak cakap, SPM memang bukan segalanya, tapi segalanya bermula dari SPM. Okay enough cut that crap. I'm here for you guys. Guidelines untuk junior junior yang ada niat nak sambung anything related to hospitality, or yang dah dapat offer in Diploma Food Service Management nanti, or for those makciksss yang selalu get the wrong ideas about this course. 

Here are some favourite Q&A I received a lot;

1. Food service management, apa tu?
Most favourable question. "Study amik course apa ni?" Kalau dengan gen-y senang lah sikit nak explain. Kalau dengan gen-x, Akak jawab je, "belajar pasal makanan makcikkkkk.."
Okay actually, the fact, the honest truth about DFSM is, we are part of hotel and tourism management faculty. Tapi, bila sebut pasal hotel je, orang ingat chef masak masak. It is a big NO. So, faculty of hotel and tourism management in UiTM consist of diploma in hotel management, diploma in tourism management, diploma in food service management, and diploma in culinary arts.

2. Kat mana je ada course DFSM ni?
Setahu Akak, DFSM ada kat dua campus UiTM. Satu campus Dungun, which is mine, and lagi satu kat campus Penang. Yang dua dua ni untuk course diploma. Kalau degree maybe y'all sambung kat Puncak Alam or Dungun.

3. Belajar apa eh? Masak je ke?
This one makcik ever told me, orang dulu belajar masak tak payah masuk u. Ye lahhhh makcik. Kalau cengitu sampai bila nak jadi orang dulu? Of course we're not only learning how to cook (sahaja). Since batch akak batch last yang guna cohort lama, so awak awak junior semua akan guna cohort baru. Tak jauh sangat pun cohort lama dengan cohort baru. Cuma yang bezanya, cohort lama practical sem 6, cohort baru practical sem 5. That makes you guys need only two and half years to finish your diploma.

4. Okay, what do we actually learn?
First sem tu y'all belajar benda benda basic macam food hygiene, basic western cooking (ini masuk kitchen once a week, and trust me this kitchen class is heaven of food), hospitality, foundation kn management, third language (Mandarin/Arabic). Makin bertambah sem, makin banyak y'all belajar, food study, food science, housekeeping, service class (this one y'all akan deal dengan another class which is kitchen class since y'all akan serve apa yang diorang masak to customer), food accounting (semoga dapat balanced ledgar lah ye), cost control (on how to calculate cost), marketing. Sem before practical tu paling gila bila korang ada class entrepreneurship. Time ni lah kawan boleh jadi musuh, tak tidur malam, kalau tidur pun depan laptop tengah struggle siapkan report, lupa makan, rambut gugur dan sebagainya. But you no need to worry, everything is paid off your effort. So jangan ingat course ni masak semata mata eh.
Not to mention university requirements subject macam English study, Islamic study, coQ.

5. Senang tak nak score course ni?
Senang, kalau y'all study. Mana mana course pun sama je. Formula dia, y'all KENA HARUS WAJIB study. Akak jenis wake up to study. Bangun awal, and study lah sampai lebam (kalau nak lah). Akak bukan jenis stay up nak study. My roommates know I'll be on my bed sharp on 12 am. Paling lambat tidur pun pukul 12.30. Kalau y'all jenis stay up, tak kisah pun sebenarnya. Tapi, make sure class esok pukul 8 pergi tau. Another one is, be focus in class. Jot down apa yang lecturer bagitau. Siapkan assignment awal awal. Nak bercinta boleh, but be wise. Study is your priority. Buat study group. Share your knowledge.

6. Campus okay tak? Dungun okay tak?
And this question I will personally jawab for Dungun campus je lah sebab akak belajar kat sana. Kalau Penang tu wallahualam lah sebab tak pernah pergi. Okay talking about the environment, UiTM Dungun ni sebenarnya cantik and betul betul tepi pantai. Hanya sebatang jalan raya je yang memisahkan pantai dengan campus. Kalau time stress stress buat assignment ke boring taktahu nak buat apa ke, korang boleh je jalan kaki pergi pantai depan tu, pekena ABC ke Air Batu Jagung ke. Do not expect too much kalau korang nak berjimba kat Dungun since there is no cinema and whatnot. tajdid balik niat korang datang sana nak study, bukan berjimba, okay? Tapi kalau dah sumbat sangat kepala oak tu, boleh je pergi Mesra Mall kat Kerteh area before Petronas kot idk I've never been there (I'm assuming it's been called Mesra Mall sebab Petronas punya kot. Kan Petronas ada Mesra Mart)

7. Better amik PTPTN ke duit sendiri ke scholarship?
Masa awal awal masuk, akak apply PTPTN. Then I got rejected sebab time tu mak bapak belum bersara. Then dua sem jugak lah tebalkan muka guna duit mak bapak. Since then, akak try apply JPA, Yayasan Bank Rakyat, Yayasan Sime Darby. Alhamdulillah, akak dapat pinjaman dari Yayasan bank Rakyat time third sem. Pinjaman YBR ni boleh ubah. let say y'all dapat 3.75 and above, automatic jadi full scholarship. and pengambilan dia setahun sekali je in between May-August every year.

8. Lepas habis diploma, boleh kerja apa?
Since this course covers all aspects in hotel, including cooking skills, housekeeping, serving, y'all boleh masuk semua bidang sebenarnya. Sangat luas. Tapi nak jawab secara directly nak kerja apa, I don't have any solid answer sebab akak sendiri pun masih menghitung hari nak habis sem practical ni. InsyaAllah, ada rezeki Allah bagi, ada kerja bagus.

Wescobee Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey

Assalamualaikum

Been two months for internship but I am freely leisuring around, don't give any single shit about doing the report amagaddd this is stressful.

Anyway, I pop up to introduce this product which I just consumed for a day. It started from this girl @hudazaidi_ Go follow her on twitter and instagram girlssss if you wanna have consultancy regarding beauty talks. And she's the definition of beauty with brain. Saw her tweet on twt_kecantikan about apple cider vinegar. Then I asked her the details about that ACV and I gave a shoot to try it regarding to this acne. It said to be good for getting rid of those blemishes and make your face smoother.


I looked for Bragg and I couldn't find it deymmm why they don't sell it here or maybe I am too lazy to really have it. So i ended up bought this Wescobee Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey since it has its mother in it. Well, I'll update if there will be any differences in anytime soon. Muahhhh xoxo
